"Technology" in the Olympics

The first issue of Fortune magazine, in 1927 I think, had an article about new technology. It was about refrigeration! A couple of years ago, a friend told me about his love of bowling and all the new technology in bowling balls. I had no idea. Now I've been reading about new technologies being used at the Olympics -- shoes especially for rowing, a special bow for shooting arrows, and swimsuits designed to make people "smaller" and therefore faster. Read about them in FastCompany magazine, one of my favorites. Here at UIS most of us tend to think about using computer technology when we ponder uses of new technology. That's a pretty narrow definition.
